Kendrick Lamar Breaks Silence, Announces Final TDE Album

||, |

After years of anticipation, one of the world’s most celebrated rapper’s, Kendrick Lamar, has finally announced a new album. Kendrick tweeted out a link to a site called oklama.com, where one can view an open letter to his fans. For the first parts of the letter he speaks in poetry, but ultimately mentions that he’s producing his “final TDE album.” He then signs off by saying “see you soon enough.”

While we aren’t getting an official album title or release date, this is Kendrick’s first official communication in over a year and a half. He’s finally broken his silence, and it appears the project is now just around the corner.

Kendrick specifies that this is his last album on Top Dawg Entertainment. While the letter may read as a kind of a farewell, we’re interpreting it as more of a transition. Last year, Kendrick launched a new company called pgLang, which could serve as a new home for his music.

You can read the full open letter below. Get ready.

I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.

I go months without a phone.

Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.

While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.

As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.

There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.

Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all.

See you soon enough.
