Rising Producer Molly Otto Makes bitbird Debut With Bright Single, “I’ll Be Alright”

||, |,

It’s been a hell of a year for rising producer Molly Otto. Not only was she the opening act for Lamorn (who made one of our favorite albums of the year) on his tour, but she also had one of her tracks feature on the latest iconic bitbird compilation album. Her new song “I’ll Be Alright,” comes out today, also courtesy of the San Holo-led label.

“I’ll Be Alright,” is cloaked in nostalgia. The production reminds us of early 2010’s era Phoenix with its vibrant indie guitar licks, but Otto also credits Former Hero, another fellow bitbird artist, as her influence. However, Otto gives this sound a fresh spin that is uniquely hers with her deep, emotive vocals, euphoric synth textures, and an undercurrent of bass. Running through it all is a charging indie-dance beat. The final result is movie soundtrack-worthy.

Molly shares the story behind the song,

“The track was intended to be an exercise in unapologetic writing and production. I wanted to see what would happen if I told myself there were no limits, and more importantly, no ‘bad’ idea. In letting my ideas run freely, I came up with this track and finally got out of a tough bout of writer’s block.”

Definitely make sure to give “I’ll Be Alright” a listen below. Enjoy!
