obli Delivers Bouncy Sophomore Release “Hold It”

||, |,

After making his debut with Foreign Family Collective back in April, L.A-based musician and producer obli is back with his second release on the label, with this one being arguably more impressive than his first. With a smooth, bouncy house beat as the backbone, piano chords providing the melody, and a bright vocal sample tying everything together, “Hold It” is a track that evokes that summertime rooftop feeling as we head into winter.

Being that he draws inspiration from the likes of Bonobo, Jamie xx, and Caribou – obli clearly has incorporated plenty of that into this very danceable release. To hear him tell it:

About a month or so into the lockdown my now wife and I started hanging with one of my really good friends and we would have these super fun dance nights with just the three of us. It felt so good to put on playlists or sort of DJ and just let loose for a couple of hours. ‘Hold It’ was sort of born out of those nights – wanting to hear something that just felt good and that you could dance to.

Needless to say, this track will be in regular rotation for many a dance night, whether at home or otherwise, going forward. Below is a link the music, enjoy!
