PANTōNE VU have been firmly cementing themselves as artists to watch out for when it comes to all things lofi and downtempo. The anonymous producers that go by the names A + K, have already made their mark on the site with their The Blue Series and The Orange Series EPs. The duo are back at it once again by releasing their debut album, There Are No Words, out now via Nettwerk Music Group.
The 18-track double-sided project expands on PANTōNE VU’s previously released concept EPs and dives further into the corners of the color spectrum, blending found sound, live performance, and modular synth tinkering. Both producers teamed up with the common goal of incorporating chromesthesia into their music. That endeavor has proven successful as you close your eyes, while each track automatically and organically evokes an experience of color.
Here’s what the duo had to say about the album:
“We’ve decided to call this one ‘There Are No Words’ because, well there are no words,”explains the duo. “Our wish is that you, dear listener, will find shelter and perhaps hope in these songs in the middle of our fractured echo chamber world–a world which often leaves A + K speechless and reaching for their instruments.”
