RL Grime Shares Long Awaited & Highly Anticipated New Album ‘NOVA’

There are few artists that can build up as much release hype as RL Grime. With the trap heavyweight having released numerous singles since announcing his sophomore album back in May of last year, we’ve been patiently waiting for what very well may be one of the biggest electronic releases of 2018. Now, the wait is over as RL has finally dropped his brand new album NOVA.

"I spent a lot of 2015-2017 depressed, anxious, and unmotivated. The music I was making for NOVA reflected that; it felt melancholy, but still hopeful… I wanted my music to emerge from that darkness, but not to abandon the feelings that had shaped the project in the first place." – RL Grime

RL Grime definitely didn’t disappoint with this latest offering. Upon first listen it’s very apparent that a great deal of time and thought went into every second of NOVA. Although we’re already familiar with the album’s previously released singles “Reims”, “Era”, “I Wanna Know”, “Undo”, “Pressure” and “Light Me Up”, throughout the rest of the LP’s 15, from bass music to hip-hop to future bass, RL takes inspiration from all over the electronic music spectrum switching things up from his trap roots on much of the project.

Although we noticed that “Stay For It” with Miguel was left off the album (as it was probably beat out by “Light Me Up”), RL has tapped heavy-hitters Ty Dolla $ign, Joji, Chief Keef, 24hrs, Jeremy Zucker and more to complete this incredibly cohesive and absolutely unforgettable project.
