SG Lewis Partners With Music Legend Nile Rodgers On New Single “One More”

||, |,

It’s been such a treat following SG Lewis’ debut album rollout. The British producer has locked into the golden era of disco on this project, and today, that comes to head as he partners with one of Disco’s (and music’s) most prolific figures, Nile Rodgers, on a new late night groover titled, “One More.”

This latest track tells the story night out on the town. A healthy drum kit bumps out a steady beat, and SG’s voice is clear as day, but this track’s beauty is found in the supporting ensemble. The bass line is steady and dynamic, the synths and piano are rich and robust, and Nile Rodgers gives us a taste of his legendary guitar talents, effortlessly chucking out a seamless guitar lines that take this track to the moon. Working with such a legend was not lost on Lewis either as he commented:

“Working with Nile Rodgers was an experience which will stay with me for the rest of my life. To have someone who has influenced not only this album, but my entire career play on this song is mind blowing.”

Fun fact: Rodgers co-wrote and played guitar in three songs on Daft Punk’s most recent album, Random Access Memories, including the global hit, “Get Lucky.” He’s also worked with everyone from Diana Ross and David Bowie, to Disclosure and Anderson .Paak.

These singles from SG Lewis’ debut album have given us a mean case of dancing fever, and this latest is no exception. The album, times, arrives in full on February 19, and you best believe we’ll here to cover it. Until then, enjoy this meeting of old school and new school on SG Lewis’ new single, “One More,” featuring Nile Rodgers, below. Enjoy!
