Tape B has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting young acts to pay attention to in bass music. His tasteful nostalgic approach to music was as evident as ever on his A Dose of Nostalgia EP and he’s continuing to evolve his sound with every release. Today, he’s dropped his newest EP, Over Saturated, out now via Deadbeats.
Tape B has found the sweet spot between nostalgic dubstep and forward-thinking sound design. Over Saturated is filled from start to finish with melody-forward, hard-hitting bass and dubstep to satisfy just about anyone. The title track pays homage to the 8-bit era of early 2k dubstep while “Another Night Alone” is a nod to the reggae-infused that birthed the genre. And just to flex his unwavering versatility, Tape B takes “Voices” in an unexpected tech house direction.
Tape B will also be opening up for Zeds Dead’s Deadrocks IX night two so make sure to catch him then. Stream the EP below and enjoy!
