Getter’s hip-hop alter ego Terror Reid has been one of our unexpectedly favorite side-projects by an artist over the past few years. Since his debut in 2017, he’s intermittently dropped music and even gone on tour, selling out venues across the country. During the pandemic, he dropped his first album HOT VODKA 1 and today he’s treating us with the next installment of the project, HOT VODKA 2.
Like its predecessor, HOT VODKA 2 is straight fire from front to back. Terror Reid’s villainous rap alias takes the reins once again as he drops some seriously skillful bars over the course of twelve tracks. Getter’s productions shine as well as he crafts unique beats for each track that span between hard-hitting grime, psychedelic hazes, and southern-inspired laidback grooves.
The idea of a concept rap album is no new thing but we’ve been drawn to the boundless creativity behind them. At times, HOT VODKA 2 reminds us of Logic’s DOC D project PLANETARY DESTRUCTION, which is still one of our favorite rap mixtapes.
Terror Reid may have started out as a bit of a joke from the accomplished producer but has since grown into a full-fledged project with real significance. Stream HOT VODKA 2 below. Enjoy!
