We are on the cusp of one of electronic music’s most beloved festivals in Electric Forest. Since its first iteration Rothbury Festival in 2008, thousands flock up to the forest along Lake Michigan to experience this beautiful event every summer.
To say this year’s lineup is stacked is a MASSIVE understatement. The people behind the scenes at Madison House Presents and Insomniac really went above and beyond when they curated this festival. The scenes top house, dubstep, bass, techno, hip-hop, and more will flood the Sherwood Forest and allow attendees to pick and choose what they want to see when they want to see it.
To help those going, and to give those who aren’t even more fomo, we are going to highlight our Top 5 Most Anticipated Acts to See At Electric Forest this year. Check out the list below!
1. LSZEE
LSDREAM and CloZee have joined forces like two of the bass music Power Rangers and are going to be debuting their LSZEE show at the festival on Saturday. After releasing its first two singles, the duo announced their album will be dropping September 27th and that these upcoming LSZEE shows will be 90 minutes and are built around the album and original releases. If “FRENCH DREAM” and “CHRYSALIS” are anything indication of what the set is going to be like it’s going to be bananas.
(BONUS: LSDREAM will be doing his Lightcode sound healing and ambient music set Sunday to help everyone get ready for the festival’s last day).
2. Levity
Last year at Electric Forest while attending the festival, two of the Levity member were called upon to fill in a slot at the Honeycomb that was vacated and they crushed it. The reviews and aftermath of that show is what has blasted Levity into the atmosphere. Their music and remixes of their work is being played everywhere now and one year later the group has been asked to return to Sherwood Forest to give us all an update on what they’ve been cooking up.
3. Sara Landry
The High Priestess of Hard Techno is gracing us with her presence this year at Electric Forest. After taking over the cover of DJ Mag in April, and murdering her set at Circuit Grounds at EDC, she will be sure to help fill ravers techno cravings next weekend.
4. Ludacris
After going to Electric Forest in 2019 and seeing T-Pain, it’s fun to see who fills in the Hip-Hop slot for Forest every year. This year it’s none other than Ludacris. When you’re head banging and two stepping all weekend to dance music it’s nice to catch a breather (if you want to call it that) at some point in the festival and if you grew up listening to hip-hop you’re going to want to catch Ludacris Friday.
5. Barclay Crenshaw
Claude VonStroke announced that he’d be taking this year off from massive underground house sets and is performing by his government name Barclay Crenshaw as a bass artist. So far, the releases and performances he’s cultivated under this project have been nothing short of spectacular and I can’t think of a better setting to experience his talent than in the Electric Forest.
Once again, this year’s lineup is so stacked it’s not even funny. Five different artists could be featured in this article and it would still carry the same weight or you could still question why they’re being left off. The fact of the matter is the anticipation for Electric Forest is starting to hit and the excitement is real. Hope you all are ready!
