Chaz Bear has just announced a brand new Toro y Moi album. The project is titled Mahal and it will follow up his 2019 body of work, Outer Peace (but don’t forget about his Soul Trash mixtape, too). Along with the announcement comes the first two singles as well, “Postman” and “Magazine,” featuring Salami Rose Joe Lewis.
These funky and hazy vibes that are emanating from these two new tracks have us pining for the rest of Mahal. The album, which will be 13 tracks in length, is due out via Dead Ocean on April 29. Dead Ocean’s prime indie signings such as Khruangbin, Bright Eyes, Mitski, and Japanese Breakfast rarely let us down, so we’re eager to hear how Toro y Moi fare on the label.
