One thing has become very clear in 2023: Trap is back. Legends like RL Grime, What So Not, and Great Dane have made their mark already and now it’s time for Troyboi to add his name to the mix. Today, he’s teamed up with Jon Casey for their collaborative single “Zurna,” out now via T Dot Music.
Troyboi has always been inspired by eastern sounds and rhythms. On “Zurna,” he takes that up a notch using an eastern-inspired chant and clarinet as the focal points of the track. Once things get going, both him and Jon Casey infuse a heavy synth hook and powerful drums to create an epic trap breakdown.
