Earlier this year, Tycho ushered in the next chapter of his career with his upbeat single “Time To Run.” The longtime Burning Man resident was up to his usual antics at this year’s festival where he premiered his latest track “Small Sanctuary,” out now via Ninja Tune/Mom+Pop.
Tycho has once again teamed up with Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor who’s airy vocals serve as the focal point of the track. The light, melodic track is met with some more upbeat rhythms and instrumentation, allowing Tycho to express himself throughout the three and half minute affair.
Tycho’s inspiration for the track comes from his daughter. He writes,
“Innocent and unburdened by the trappings of modern life, children are a pure expression of the human condition,” says Scott Hansen. “To watch them grow and learn is to witness a sanctuary for the human spirit. I wrote this song for my daughter who brings me limitless joy and inspiration.
