For years Diplo has continued to solidify himself as one of the most powerful and diverse producers in the industry. Having dabbled in damn near every genre imaginable over the course of his career, today the EDM superstar, in a surprising move, has unveiling his new country side project under his real name, Thomas Wesley. According to a press release, Diplo has “several forthcoming collaborations with country artists.”

Although we may have recently joked about a possible Diplo x Dillon Francis Country collab, it seems that in a weird twist of fate, the universe has bestowed a very similar reality upon us. But while this latest news may be a bit unconventional, it makes perfect sense for someone as multifaceted and multi-talented as Diplo. Having teamed up with Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Cam for this first single, “So Long”, off his new side-project – featuring lush, steady acoustic guitar, bright, playful violin and an undeniably catchy 4/4 rhythm, we’re excited to hear Diplo innovating in yet another unique sonic space.

As the prolific producer has surely worked to surpass the confines of mainstream genres, we’ve continued to see Diplo branch out across the music spectrum as of late, dropping a Hip-Hop EP, Pop album and a some fresh new House tracks in the last few months alone. And while it’s anyone’s guess as to what we can expect from this new Thomas Wesley project, we’re definitely feeling a strong yeehaw energy from this latest offering. Check out “So Long” below and enjoy!
