New Joey Bada$$ releases have been few and far between for the past couple of years, but each time he drops we will always immediately hit play. This morning he delivered “THE REV3NGE,” his first single in a full calendar year. This follows 2021’s “Let It Breathe.”
Off the bat, you’ll hear that Joey is going in a more commercial direction with this one. In addition to his bars, he’s got a pretty catchy hook and loud, horn-based production that’s reminiscent of Drake’s “Trophies.”
While this new sound may be something to adjust to, Joey appears confident as ever, and perhaps is looking ahead to his next body of work. His last solo studio album, ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$, dropped nearly five years ago. Back in 2020, he vaguely tweeted “Wow. This is really my best album.”
