In a stream-centric society driven by the the thrill of heavy bass and massive stage production, it can be easy at times to lose sight of what brought us to the electronic music scene in the first place. In an attempt to combat this over-stimulation / over-saturation and to rekindle their inspiration for the art behind the spectacle, today SLUMBERJACK has stripped down and rebuilt their unique trap sound with their impressive new SARAWAK EP.
“Traveling to SARAWAK, Morgan’s birth place in Borneo, to wrap up the writing process for this EP was both an enlightening and freeing experience. These tracks really have traveled the world with us and each is unique and special for its own reasons.” – SLUMBERJACK
As chronicled leading up to this release, the Australian-duo developed their latest EP after returning to the place where Morgan (½ of SLUMBERJACK) grew up – the Malaysian state of Sarawak in Borneo. Through intentional melodies and harmonies, sophisticated chord progressions and intricate sound design, SLUMBERJACK transports listeners to a dreamlike world where their excitement, apprehension, longing and passion can all fully experienced through this masterfully crafted five-track sonic journey. Featuring a follow up collab with Ekali plus four extra tracks including previously releases with TroyBoi and Machine Age, SLUMBERJACK’s new SARAWAK EP seems truly to have been a labor of love.
