Cautious Clay is undoubtedly one of my favorite rising artists. The versatile artist blends various elements including indie, hip-hop, R&B and more. There’s something about his smooth, honest songwriting that just connects each and every time.
Today he’s released his new six-track EP titled Table Of Context and it’s some of his best work yet. We were able to catch up with him and he revealed that this EP is “the last EP I’m releasing and it feels very comprehensive and therapeutic for myself and my own understandings of my life.”
It makes sense that he’s able to blend so many sounds effortlessly as he’s explained to us some of his biggest influences are Outkast and some elements of the beach boys. Sounds pretty spot on as he captures an easygoing, summertime vibe while delivering extra catchy vocals. Cautious Clay revealed his favorite song is “Definitely Sidewinder, the first song. That was really enjoyable I just made that in my room by myself.”
This project follows up singles like his Hudson Mohawke collab “REASONS” and “HONEST ENOUGH” alongside Medasin. We’ve really enjoyed everything we’ve heard from this talented rising artist so far and are excited to see what the next chapter is after these EPs
