Flume, Tycho, Bonobo & More Dance/Electronic Artists Nominated For 2020 GRAMMYs

It’s been an incredible year for new releases in the dance and electronic music worlds and it’s time for some of the best to be nominated for the most prestigious award. There’s been a handful of a TSIS favorite dance/electronic artists that have received nominations for the 2020 edition of the GRAMMY awards including Flume, Bonobo, Tycho, Rüfüs Du Sol and more.

Flume and his “Hi This Is Flume” mixtape managed to make it the list which (besides Chance,  The Rapper) has to be the first ever mixtape I’ve ever seen in this category. This release had very polarizing responses for all the right reasons. It’s extremely cool to see this make the list for me personally.

Rüfüs Du Sol and their Solace album was one that I really enjoyed when it came out and have fallen in love with more throughout the year. They got nominated for both album of the year for Solace and Best Dance Recording for “Underwater” making a whopping 2 nominations this time around.

Tycho released his first vocal heavy album in his long-standing career, also taking quite a risk from building up a dedicated fanbase almost entirely from instrumental productions. It paid off big and we got an incredible album that has received an award nomination it certainly deserves.

Bonobo comes in a nomination for best dance recording for his loose single “Linked” which is such an incredible record. Dance / electronic act The Chemical Brothers have been in existence for 20 years and put out their 9th album which was the first in over four years. Apparat is a German ambient producer who’s been releasing music since the late 90’s and does regular collaborations with Modeselektor as Moderat.

Here’s the full list below for both categories for album and best record. Who did you think should have made it?
