Listen to Flume’s Third Studio Album ‘Palaces’

|||, , , ,

It’s been six long years since Flume premiered his last commercial album, Skin. While it’s still one of our favorite projects to date, we’ve been chomping at the bit for new Flume material (although we were held over by his amazing mixtape, Hi This Is Flume). The GRAMMY award-winning artist began satiating our desires in February, beginning the rollout of his latest project with the lead single, “Say Nothing.” Two and a half months and four singles later, we’ve finally arrived at the release day of Flume’s third album, Palaces.

The singles we’ve heard to this point have granted listeners a wide swath of sounds to sample. From the buoyant melodies of “Hollow,” to the gorgeous glitches of “Sirens,” it seemed we were witnessing the Australian producer in his finest form to date. The thirteen-track project provides all the evidence we needed to firmly stand behind that assumption, as Palaces delivers a masterful juxtaposition of energies that seamlessly flow from ethereal, downtempo ballads to, as Flume so eloquently described to Zane Lowe, “a transformer being murdered.”

The sonic elements that come from the mind of Flume never cease to amaze us. Add in feature support from artists like Damon Albarn, QUIET BISON, and Caroline Polachek, and you have a project that seems primed for yet another GRAMMY nomination. Stream Flume’s third album, Palaces, below. Enjoy!
